For Labor Day, we went to a place called
Conner Prairie. It is about 45 minutes south of Muncie. Conner Prairie is an interactive history park. It includes five theme areas: Lenape Indian Camp, the Conner Homestead, 1836 Prarietown,
1859 Balloon Voyage and 1886 Liberty Corner. It is a really fun park with a lot of fun things to see and do. We saw candle dipping, a really
old baseball field, a man carving a rifle barrel out of wood, were able to try out stilts and try on some pioneer clothes. The workers at the park dress in period costumes. If you talk to them, or ask them questions, they answer as if they are living in the time period and the area they work in. There is also an "
Apple Store" that has delicious carmel apples.
