It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This week has started showing signs of Christmas here in Indiana. Lots of people have Christmas lights adorning their homes, Christmas trees are up, parties are being planned, and it is COLD here, (with snow yet to be seen).

For FHE last week, Kurtis and I set up our Christmas tree. Now, our front room is a little on the small side, so we had to do some improvisation. We decided that instead of setting up the whole tree, we'd only set up Half of the tree and put it against the wall. Partially for spacing issues, and partially just to see if we could do it/to be funny. It worked, and it looks cute.

We also put up our stockings, nativity set and new advent calendar from Mama Ellis. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our house.

This weekend, we visited Minnetrista here in town. Each year they put together an "Enchanted Luminaria Walk." All of Minnetrista was open, including the exhibits and the Ball Brothers mansions. Inside of the buildings, Christmas music filled the air. A lady in the ward was playing the harp. Kurtis requested she play "We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet," she filled his request, stating that no one else would know the song anyway. There were gingerbread houses, ornament decorating, basket weaving, kids dancing, lights all over the trees, and luminary candles sitting in buckets lining the streets. The night definitely felt magically like Christmas. We really enjoyed ourselves, and we are happy that we are going to be able to be home for Christmas.

Looks like you guys are already for the holidays. Your 'half' Christmas tree idea looks good. Maybe you should look into patenting the idea and come up with your own product.
