It's a Girl!

We're so excited to have found out that our little baby is a girl! Last week we went to the doctor's office for the 4D ultrasound. Everything looks great and is going well. The baby weighs approx. 1 lb. and 3 oz. right now. Her heart rate was at 163. The ultrasound tech said that she thinks our baby is going to be "a talker..." her mouth was opening and closing like crazy. She was also being shy and stubborn. She was face down the whole time and her arm was in front of her face...tangled up in the umbilical cord.

For those of you who may not be familiar with a 4D ultrasound, the ultrasound machine basically takes three different angles of whatever you're looking at and the computer generates a 3D image of the baby. The 4th dimension is the live movement of the baby. The tech, mom and baby all have to hold pretty still or the images can be stretched or blurred.

Here are some pics from the ultrasound:

Her face (remember, these are a little distorted from movement)

Face with hand covering it

This one is kind of funny. The bright white spot on the right is one of her ears. You can see her ribs too.

Cross-legged and relaxing! Usually those little feet are kicking me.
I can sometimes see a little bump moving across or jumping out from my bare belly when she does it...so fun!

VIDEOS

This video is a regular ultrasound. You can see her heart beat, the umbilical cord, an eye, the nasal bones and a good little punch!

4D video. Starts at the the feet and scans upwards to her head.
You can see her arm in the cord and her hiding her sweet little face.

Wow. That's the first time I've seen a 4-D ultrasound. Pretty amazing! So glad to hear everything looks good.
