For Kurtis' one and only day off this week (of five total this month), we decided to take a trip down to Indy (as the locals call it) to go to the Indiana State Fair. From the moment we walked in, it had "Country Bumpkin'" written all over it.
At the fair we saw a Lumberjack competition (ax throwing, log sawing, pole climbing events), Hendrick's Amazing Racing Hogs, Stars of the Peking Acrobats, a giant cheese sculpture and canned tomato can creations. Not to mention all the goodies: Grilled corn on the cob, plenty of pork, homemade rootbeer, deep fried foods (any you could think of: Deep Fried Twinkees, Deep Fried Oreos, Deep Fried Cookie Dough, Deep Fried Pepsi - my friend Hannah said this is why Indiana people are so overweight), chocolate covered bacon and elephant ears. We just had the rootbeer.
We also saw some cows, mini donkeys and the biggest tractor ever. And the highlight of Kurtis' day, we heard Kelly Clarkson warming up for her concert that night, and even sneaked a peek of her through the fence. Kurtis LOVES to sing Kelly Clarkson's song "Since U Been Gone."
This State Fair was the biggest fair I've ever seen. There was so much to do and see (and eat). We had a Rootin' Tootin' good time.

We love this. It looks like you had a good time. The pictures were great. Brock would love to see the big tractor. We will have to show it to him. Have a great week.
